Kanani is a Polynesian performer based in Southern California. She is the lead instructor at her family dance studio, Lokelani’s Rhythm of the Islands, and the 2019 ‘Ori Tahiti World Championship, 1st Place Award winner.

Kanani is a multi-award-winning Tahitian soloist whose titles include Heiva’i’Paris 2018 and ‘Ori Tahiti World Cup 2018. This expertise allows her to tour the world to give workshops in various renowned dance schools around the globe. Kanani leads by example and uses dance as a way to communicate with the world around her and to provide a safe space for others to open their hearts and minds.

In December 2019, Kanani was crowned one more time in Tahiti and took home, not one, but two, 1st place gold medals from some of the most acclaimed and emblematic stages of the ‘Ori Tahiti world: the ‘Ori Tahiti Nui Competition and the ‘Ori World Championship Competition.
