Polynesian Drummer
Sefa is an award-winning Polynesian Drummer, Custom Drum Builder, Polynesian Drum Instructor, and Recording Artist based in Southern California. Sefa was surrounded by Polynesian music and dance since his childhood. His grandmother, Estella Reid, founded the world-class Polynesian dance group Nonosina, and raised him to learn his skills fromTahiti-born Master Drummer, Tuko Mapuhi Tekurio.
To date, Sefa has acquired nearly three decades of extensive Polynesian drumming expertise on a global scale and served as the Lead Drummer and Composer at a multitude of Tahitian dance competitions, Polynesian festivals, and various other events. Sefa recently recorded and released his first album « Moemoeā » and performs with a full cast of talented musicians and dancers ranging from children to adults. He also teaches drumming classes regularly and instructs workshops with various dance groups in and out of the United States.
Sefa is the producer of Ma’uera’a, the central song of the film.
