Brunetta is an untiring teacher and advocate of French Sign Language. After a rather difficult childhood of being forced to adopt the spoken language, Brunetta encountered this liberating form of communication. She has been engaged in the defense and protection of the deaf community’s rights ever since. She has worked all her life in favor of the acknowledgment and recognition of her culture, and has travelled the world to connect different communities through her endeavors.

Brunetta has recently widened her activity to the arts and medias, and has notably taken part in the organization of the first international Deaf Beauty Pageant Competitions on the Réunion Island. Brunetta is now freshly retired but continues to dedicate her time to supporting the spread and development of various other bilingual projects. « The Vahine » marks a direct continuation of her journey.
